The Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare (DA & FW) has announced a golden opportunity for legal professionals, inviting applications for the position of Law Officer (Fertilizer) through deputation or absorption. This initiative aims to strengthen the legal framework within the agricultural sector, aligning with the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare's broader mission. As a vital constituent of the Ministry, DA & FW plays a pivotal role in shaping agricultural policies and ensuring their effective implementation.

Department Overview

The Department of Agriculture, Cooperation & Farmers Welfare (DAC & FW) is a key player within the Ministry, working in tandem with the Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying & Fisheries and the Department of Agricultural Research and Education. Led by the Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Minister, the department is supported by dedicated Ministers of State and a team of administrative heads, including the Secretary (AC & FW) and additional secretaries.

Law Officer (Fertilizer) Structural Landscape

With 28 divisions, five attached offices, and 21 subordinate offices spread across the country, DA & FW maintains close coordination with state-level agencies for seamless implementation of Central Sector Schemes. Additionally, it oversees public sector undertakings, autonomous bodies, national cooperative organisations, and authorities, all functioning under its administrative control.

Law Officer (Fertilizer) Job Opportunity

The position of Law Officer (Fertiliser) has one opening, and the department is seeking eligible candidates from various backgrounds. Essential qualifications include a degree in Law from a recognised university or institute, coupled with a requisite number of years' experience in the relevant grade.

Law Officer (Fertilizer) Desired Qualification

Candidates with a Bachelor of Science, particularly in Chemistry or Agriculture, from a recognised institution will be cherry on the cake bringing a diverse skill set to the role.

Law Officer (Fertilizer) Application Process

Interested candidates meeting the eligibility criteria are required to submit their applications in the prescribed format to the office of Shri Umesh Kumar Sah, Under Secretary (Pers.-II), Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi, within 60 days from the notification in Employment News dated January 20, 2024.

Age Limit and Further Details

Applicants for deputation should not exceed 56 years of age by the closing date of application receipt. Only officers from the central government, state government, or union territories are eligible for consideration on an absorption basis.
