Public sector Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have implemented a significant increase in the prices of commercial LPG gas cylinders, marking the third hike in December alone.
The adjustment, amounting to Rs 21 per cylinder, comes immediately after the conclusion of Assembly polls in five states. It is important to note that domestic LPG cylinder prices remain unchanged.
Following this latest revision, the retail sales price for a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi now stands at Rs 1,796.5. In Mumbai, the new price is Rs 1,749, in Chennai, it rises to Rs 1,968.5, and in Kolkata, it reaches Rs 1,908. This recent change follows a previous reduction of Rs 57 in commercial LPG cylinder prices on November 16.
November already witnessed the second price hike within the past two months for these commercial LPG cylinders, and December marks the third instance of such increases. The series of price revisions, effective from November 1, 2023, indicates a concerning trend of escalating costs for commercial LPG consumers.
