Maharashtra Agri Min Abdul Sattar Visits CoE for Temperate Fruits Zawoora

Maharashtra's Agriculture Minister, Abdul Sattar, visited the Centre of Excellence (CoE) for temperate fruits located in Zawoora, Jammu and Kashmir. The purpose of this visit is to strengthen agricultural ties between Maharashtra and Jammu and Kashmir, exploring avenues for collaboration and extending support in the marketing of fruits produced in both regions.

Accompanied by Director Horticulture Kashmir, G.R. Mir, Abdul Sattar conducted an extensive tour of the Centre of Excellence (CoE), acquainting himself with its state-of-the-art facilities and operations.

The Maharashtra Minister took a detailed look at the demonstration orchard, which showcased a variety of temperate fruits such as cherries, pears, plums, and peaches. This orchard exemplifies the Centre's commitment to producing high-quality fruit plants and serves as a demonstration center for micro-irrigation and high-tech greenhouse technology.

Addressing the gathering, the Minister expressed his assurance that the Government of Maharashtra would provide every possible assistance in marketing the fruits produced in Kashmir within the state of Maharashtra. He expressed optimism that the fruits grown in Maharashtra would find a receptive market in Kashmir.

This visit not only marks a significant step in strengthening agricultural ties between Maharashtra and Jammu and Kashmir but also highlights the commitment of both regions towards promoting horticulture and facilitating the exchange of knowledge and expertise.

It is anticipated that this collaboration will yield fruitful results for farmers and consumers in both Maharashtra and Jammu and Kashmir, contributing to the growth and development of the agricultural sector in both regions.
