Pravat Kumar Roul, vice-chancellor of Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) felicitated the 'achiever farmers' for their significant contributions to the agriculture sector.

Prof Roul honored the crop producers at the ongoing OUAT Farmers' Fair 2023 in Bhubaneshwar, being hosted by OUAT, India’s second oldest agricultural institute.

While discussing the need to improve farmers' conditions and the significance of having exhibitions like OUAT's, he said, "This form of Farmer's exhibition will help upgrade farmer's farming ideas and income sources."

In his address at the inaugural ceremony, Krishi Jagran's editor-in-chief MC Dominic stated, "While a large section of the Indian population is engaged in the farm sector, our country lacked a robust agri media, due to which many of our issues were not highlighted or even addressed. This was the key reason behind starting Krishi Jagran, and we are now a significant agri news media outlet with a strong presence in print and digital media, operating in multiple languages."

"Now, we need to bring farmers, for whom we are organizing such huge events, to the front row like this Farmers' Fair organized by OUAT", he added.

Further, in presence of departmental representatives, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to enhance agricultural research between the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and the Odisha Agricultural and Technical University (OUAT).

Meanwhile, supporting the most recent innovations and standard methods in agriculture is the main goal of the event. Farmers who attend the fair will have the chance to network with business executives and learn about the newest technological developments, scientific discoveries, and sustainable farming practices.

The 2-day fair will come to an end on February 28.
