Over 14,000 Students Receive Degrees, Diplomas at 13th Convocation of SHUATS

The 13th Convocation of SHUATS for on-campus students who successfully finish their undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate programmes in 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022 was held on Thursday.

Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Science (SHUATS) formerly known as Allahabad Agricultural Institute (AAI) conducted its 13th Annual Convocation on 27 October 2022.  Geevarghese Mar Coorilos, Metropolitan of the Syrian Orthodox Church of Malangkara was the guest of honor.

More than 14,000 degrees and diplomas were awarded to students during the convocation which was held after 2 years gap due to the pandemic. A total of 6,485 diplomas, 6,890 master's degrees, 388 PhDs, and 355 degrees were given to the graduating students in the academic years 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022.

During the ceremony, 411 gold and silver medals in total were given to deserving students. 121 foreign students from the United States, Nepal, Ghana, Libya, Iraq, Bhutan, etc. also received degrees.

Chief guest MG Geevarghese Mar Coorilos, Metropolitan of Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, Mumbai praised SHUATS for being a magnificent institution and noted that its students are bringing laurels to the university with their hard work and dedication.

He asserted that success would be ours provided we insisted on moving forward and maintained our concentration.

Associate Dean for Administration, Dr. Dipak Kumar Bose told Krishi Jagran that he is extremely happy to see a huge number of students from different departments passing out from the university. He was proud of the 300+ merit holders of SHUATS.

The Vice-Chancellor, R.B. Lal advised students to always work honestly, and sincerely & believe in themselves.

SHUATS Chancellor, Dr. Jetti A Oliver wished everyone who received a degree or a medal a prosperous future. He urged the students to do their part to make the world a happier and more prosperous place to live.
