Prime Minister Narendra Modi had criticized the TMC for the failure in implementing PM Kisan scheme and other schemes in West Bengal. As an answer, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee informed the assembly on Monday that her government has provided names of 2.5 lakh farmers to the center. These farmers are eligible for receiving benefits under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana.
The Chief Minister seeks a reply from the center government as to why it has not disbursed cash benefit to the beneficiaries yet.
Mamata has also increased the annual financial aid to Rs. 6,000 from Rs. 5,000 under Krishak Bandhu, which is a state government scheme. In addition, she informed that her government is planning to open 19 industrial projects in West Bengal. This will involve an investment of Rs. 72,200 crores and will generate 3.29 lakh employment opportunities.
This was in response to the questions that the members of the House raised during vote-on-account debate Mamata had presented on February 5.
