The PM Kisan Yojana, a Union Government initiative started to ensure a respectable life for an Indian farmer, has been misused. It provides financial assistance of Rs. 6,000 per annum per family payable in three equal installments, every four months, to landholder farmer families with total cultivable holding up to 2 hectares. However, many fraudulent activities have come to light while farmers were availing benefits under this scheme.
People engaging in these activities may soon face the repercussions. The government has initiated measures to combat forgery and is taking strict action against those found guilty. It is advisable to refrain from such malpractices and adhere to the rules and regulations set forth by the government.
Some farmers are resorting to unfair means by showing wrong documents and incorrect land details to the government to receive the benefits of the PM Kisan scheme. There are also many ineligible people taking advantage of the scheme. This is a matter of concern as it not only undermines the purpose of the scheme but also deprives eligible farmers of the benefits they rightfully deserve.
