PM Modi, Rahul Gandhi, and Many Celebrities Greet Manmohan Singh on His 90th Birthday

Birthday wishes pour in as Manmohan Singh the former Prime Minister of India (2004 – 2014) turns 90 today.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted and said, “Birthday greetings to former PM Dr. Manmohan Singh Ji. Praying for his long and healthy life.”

Wayanad MP and Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi also wished Dr. Singh saying, “Wishing one of India’s finest statesman, Dr. Manmohan Singh Ji a very happy birthday. His humility, dedication, and contribution to India’s development, has few parallels. He is an inspiration to me, and to crores of other Indians. I pray for his good health and happiness.”

Rajasthan CM, Ashok Gehlot tweeted and said, “Best wishes to former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh ji on his birthday. Wishing him a long, healthy and happy life. We thank him for his leadership during UPA govt, for a robust economy, bringing lakhs of people out of poverty and working tirelessly in national interest.”

Calling him a legend Boxer Vijender Singh also wished him Happy Birthday.

National President of the Indian Youth Congress, Srinivas Bhadravathi Venkata, tweeted, “Hearty wishes to former PM of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, on his birthday. A great economist who led India through thick and thin and whose vision and statesmanship helped India prosper. Wishing you all the happiness and good health.”

The Former Economist who was the 13th Prime Minister of India was also the third longest serving prime minister after Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi. A member of the Indian National Congress, Singh was the first Sikh prime minister of India. He was also the first prime minister since Jawaharlal Nehru to be re-elected after completing a full five-year term.
