PM Ujjwala Yojana: 79 Lakh LPG Connections Released Till Nov; Apply Now

Under the Ujjwala Yojana 2. 0, the oil companies have distributed 79 lakh LPG Connections till the end of November, informed Union Minister of the State for Petroleum & Natural Gas, Rameshwar Teli in reply to the question in Lok Sabha.  

Maximum Number of Connections Distributed in West Bengal

The maximum number of 17 lakh 90 thousand connections was distributed in the West Bengal. After this, 13 lakh 14 thousand people were given the facility of LPG gas connection in Uttar Pradesh. Union Minister of the State informed that the oil companies have taken many steps to encourage better consumption of LPG & to supply this without any further delay.

The Union Minister was asked in the Lok Sabha, “If the absence of pipelines to bring the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) from the refineries in some states, including southern regions states is making it costly for customers?” 

To this question, the minister said that “In order to save a common man from the effect of increase in the international prices, the government keeps on increasing the effective price for consumer of the domestic LPG according to the requirement. Apart from this, the government has included the LPG in purview of Goods & Services Tax (GST), keeping it in lowest slap of only 5%.

How to Apply?

  • To get a free gas connection, filled cylinder & stove, you will have to apply under this scheme.

  • Firstly you have to visit its official website.

  • Then, click on Apply for a New Ujjwala 2. 0 Connections.

  • Here you will see the options of Indane, Bharat Petroleum & HP Gas Company. 

  • Select one of these & fill in all the required details.

  • After, when the documents are verified, the LPG gas connections will be issued in your name.

  • In addition to LPG connection in the 2ndphase, the refilling of first cylinder will also be free.
