Petrol costs 106.03 rupees and diesel costs 92.76 rupees per litre in Kolkata. In Chennai, a litre of petrol costs 102.63 rupees, while a litre of diesel costs 94.24 rupees. In Bengaluru, a litre of petrol costs 101.94 rupees and a litre of diesel costs 87.89 rupees.
Every day at six o'clock, any price changes for gasoline and diesel take effect. Variations in gasoline and diesel prices between states can be attributed to factors such as Value Added Tax (VAT), freight costs, local taxes, and so on.
Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) make daily price revisions in accordance with foreign exchange rates and international benchmark prices.
