The International Competence Centre for Organic Agriculture (ICCOA) was proud to partner with the Government of Tripura for the Tripura Global Pineapple Festival 2026, reaffirming its commitment to promoting organic agriculture, strengthening market access, and building sustainable value chains for farmers.
Organized by the Government of Tripura at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, New Delhi, the festival served as a landmark platform to showcase the state’s premium organic and GI-tagged agricultural products to national and international markets.
The event brought together policymakers, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), exporters, buyers, and industry stakeholders to strengthen market linkages, foster business networking, and create new export opportunities for Tripura’s farming community.
The exhibition highlighted the remarkable efforts of Tripura’s organic farmers and FPOs in producing high-quality, certified organic products with significant export potential. Visitors and trade representatives showed keen interest in a diverse range of products, including organic pineapple, Bird’s Eye chilli, black rice, ginger, turmeric, sesame, processed fruit products, and other value-added organic produce.
During the festival, Mr. Manoj Kumar Menon, Executive Director, ICCOA, briefed Shri Ratan Lal Nath, Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Government of Tripura, on the immense export opportunities for Tripura’s organic products, including pineapple, Bird’s Eye chilli, turmeric, ginger, and other value-added agricultural commodities. The interaction took place in the presence of Shri B.L. Santhosh, National General Secretary, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), who appreciated the initiatives aimed at connecting farmers with national and international markets.
In another significant interaction, Mr. Rohitashwa Ghaghar, Director – Operations, ICCOA, presented the unique strengths and market potential of Tripura’s agricultural products to:

The dignitaries appreciated ICCOA’s efforts in promoting sustainable agriculture, strengthening Farmer Producer Organizations, and facilitating market access for farmers through value chain development and export promotion.
Through its partnership, ICCOA facilitated interactions between producers and buyers, promoted export-oriented value chains, and reinforced the importance of certification, quality assurance, and market connectivity in enhancing the global competitiveness of India’s organic sector. The festival successfully demonstrated Tripura’s growing potential as a hub for premium organic produce and underscored the role of strategic partnerships in expanding market opportunities for farmers.
As part of the Buyer-Seller Meet organized by ICCOA, leading companies from the organic and food sectors participated to explore sourcing and business opportunities in Tripura. The participating companies included:

Representatives from these companies expressed keen interest in establishing long-term sourcing partnerships for Tripura’s organic pineapple, Bird’s Eye chilli, spices, and other high-value agricultural products. The interactions paved the way for future collaborations, market expansion, and enhanced income opportunities for Farmer Producer Organizations across the state.
The Tripura Global Pineapple Festival 2026 successfully demonstrated Tripura’s growing position as a leading producer of premium organic agricultural products. ICCOA’s initiatives in capacity building, market linkage, export facilitation, and FPO promotion continue to contribute significantly towards creating sustainable livelihoods and expanding the global footprint of Tripura’s organic agriculture.
