A Low-Pressure area is very likely to form over south Andaman Sea and neighborhood during next 48 hours which is very likely to become more marked and concentrate into a depression during subsequent 48 hours and likely to intensify further thereafter. Moreover, it is very likely to move north-northwestwards during 01st – 03rd May and under its influence, c, speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph on 01st May over south Andaman Sea, Nicobar Islands and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal; wind speed reaching 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph over the same regions on 02nd May and wind speed reaching 50-60 kmph gusting to 70 kmph over southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining south Andaman Sea on 03rd & 04th May. Heavy to very heavy rainfall at a few places are also likely over Nicobar Islands and Southern region on 02nd May and heavy rain at isolated places on 01st, 03rd & 04th May over the same region, says the Indian Meteorological Department report in it’s morning bulletin.
Heavy Rain & Thundershowers likely to Lash over Coastal India
Under the influence of trough/Wind Discontinuity across Peninsular India, scattered to fairly widespread rain/thundershowers are likely over Kerala & Mahe and Coastal Karnataka during next 48 hours and scattered rain/thundershowers over Konkan & Goa and Interior Karnataka during next 24 hours. Isolated thunderstorms, lightning, gusty winds (30-40 kmph) are also likely over these regions during this period.

The Western Disturbance as a cyclonic circulation over north Pakistan & neighbourhood is likely to cause isolated to scattered rain/thundershowers over Western Himalayan Region, Punjab and Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi from 30th April with peak activity during 30th April-01st May.

As per yesterday’s report, maximum temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at isolated place over Gujarat state and Jammu & Kashmir; while minimum temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at isolated places over Gujarat and Madhya Maharashtra.
