India records lowest rainfall in August in 19 years
On 10th September (Friday) the India Meteorological Department said that there was a 24% of deficiency of rainfall in the month of August, this is the lowest in the last 19 years. The country has witnessed 2 major spells of a weak monsoon from 9th to 16th August & 23rd to 27th August. During this time, the northwest, central & adjoining peninsular & west coast of India has subdued rainfall.

Government enhances the Scope of MTA Scheme
On 10th September (Friday) the government enhanced the scope of the Transport & Marketing Assistance scheme for the specified agriculture products by including the dairy products under its purview & increasing the rates of assistance. This scheme has been extended till 31st March 2022.

Soya bean cultivation Area at 6.5% lesser than government estimate
The Industry body Soya bean Processor Association has pegged the area under the soya bean cultivation at 6.5%, lower than the government’s estimate but, the area is similar to the previous year & the final production of a crop will depend on the weather in harvest months of a September & October.

To meet Fuel Shortage, CIL raises Power Sector Supplies by 20%
Amid depleting the coal stocks at thermal power projects, India’s largest miner of the fuel, Coal India Ltd stepped up the supplies by 20% in the month of September so far to the crucial sector said the state-run firm on 10th September (Friday). It comes against the backdrop of India stopping the coal supplies for a week to the plants having more than 15 days stock to free 177,000 tonnes of fossil fuel to be redistributed again to the power plants having low stocks.

Ola Electric Sales to Postpone a Week
The Ola Electric has now postponed the much-awaited sale process of its scooters S1 by a week. Bhavish Aggarwal, the Chairman & Group CEO of Ola has announced the decision to delay the process due to “technical difficulties” in making the website for the purchases live for the customers.
