  • Bihar Elections 2020: Five newly-elected AIMIM legislators from Bihar call on Owaisi

    Five newly-elected legislators of the Bihar Assembly belonging to the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) called on party President Asaduddin Owaisi here on November 12. 

    Owaisi, who is also the Member of Parliament from Hyderabad, welcomed the MLAs at his residence by shaking hands and hugging them. AIMIM Bihar state unit President Akhtarul Iman, who was elected from Amour constituency, Muhammed Izhar Asfi (Kochadamam), Shahnawaz Alam (Jokihat), Syed Ruknuddin (Baisi) and Azhar Nayeemi (Bahadurgunj) arrived in the city late on Wednesday to meet Owaisi.

  • PM Modi to dedicate two Ayurveda Institutions to the nation at the 5th Ayurveda Day on Nov 13

    Prime Minister will dedicate two future-ready Ayurveda institutions to the nation at the 5th Ayurveda Day on November 13, 2020. These are the Institute of Teaching & Research in Ayurveda (ITRA), Jamnagar and the National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA), Jaipur. Both the Institutes are premier institutions of Ayurveda in the country. The former has been conferred the status of an Institution of National Importance (INI) by an Act of the Parliament, and the latter that of an Institution Deemed to be University by the University Grants Commission.

    Ministry of AYUSH, since 2016, has been observing ‘Ayurveda Day’ every year on the occasion of Dhanwantari Jayanti (Dhanteras). This year, it falls on the 13th of November.

  • Doorstep Service for submission of Digital Life Certificate through Postman launched

    India Post Payments Bank, IPPB of Department of Posts & Meity have successfully launched the initiative of the Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare: “Doorstep Service for submission of Digital Life Certificate through Postman”. The facility to submit life certificate online through Jeevan Pramaan Portal was launched by the Hon'ble Prime Minister in November 2014 to provide a convenient and transparent facility to pensioners for submission of Life Certificate.

  • CCI approves acquisition of 7.73% equity share capital of Jio Platforms

    The Competition Commission of India (CCI) approves acquisition of 7.73% equity share capital of Jio Platforms Limited (JPL) by Google International LLC (GIL) under Section 31(1) of the Competition Act, 2002.

    GIL is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Google LLC (collectively with all Google LLC subsidiaries, Google). Google LLC is a Delaware limited liability company and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Alphabet Inc. GIL is a holding company and does not own/operate any of Google’s products/ services.

  • DST selects 2020 Swarna Jayanti Fellows

    A total of 21 scientists associated with innovative research ideas in the areas of life sciences, chemical sciences, mathematics, earth and atmospheric, physical sciences, and engineering and the potential of making an impact on R&D have been selected for the Swarna Jayanti fellowship. Scientists selected for the award will be allowed to pursue unfettered research with freedom and flexibility in terms of expenditure as approved in the research plan.

  • Atmanirbhar Bharat Rozgar Yojana 2020: All you need to know about a new employment scheme

    The establishments registering with EPFO after the commencement of the scheme will get subsidy for all new employees and the scheme will remain operational till June 30, 2021. Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced Atmanirbhar Bharat Rozgar Yojana on Thursday, aimed at incentivising the creation of new employment opportunities during the COVID-19 economic recovery phase. 

    The new scheme will benefit any new employee joining employment in EPFO registered establishments on monthly wages less than Rs 15,000.

  • COVID-19 Updates: Delhi's 3rd COVID Peak Longer Than Previous Ones, May Subside Soon says, Satyendar Jain

    The duration of the third peak of the spread of COVID-19 in the national capital is longer than those of the previous peaks but it may subside in the next few days, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said on November 11.

    Interacting with reporters, he asserted that the city government has significantly ramped up testing by nearly three times on an average per day compared to the number of tests conducted when the second peak had hit around September 16, when over 4,000 daily cases were being reported.

  • Dhanteras 2020: Date, Puja Timings, and Significance

    Dhantrayodashi or Dhanteras is the first day of the five-day-long Diwali festivities in India. It is believed that on this day, the Goddess of wealth, Lakshmi, emerged from the ocean during the churning of milk. The Trayodashi Tithi begins at 9.30 pm on November 12 and ends at 5.59 pm on November 13.
