Latest Budget Updates! Andhra Pradesh Budget Session Begins
Andhra Pradesh Legislature has become the first state Assembly in the country to hold its sitting at time of COVID-19 pandemic as the Budget Session begins today (June 16, 2020). Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan has addressed the state Legislature by video conferencing from Raj Bhavan to formally mark the beginning of the session.

US-China Tensions: Dry Fruit Prices Drop 20 percent on Low Demand
Dry fruits prices have declined as much as 20% in the past three months, because of the current US-China battle and sluggish demand owing to the lockdown. The prices of dry fruits such as almond, pistachio that have high nutritional value have dropped by Rs 200/kg.
National President of Federation of Grocery & Dryfruit Commercial Association Anil Mehra said, "The prices of all dry fruits, whether it is pistachio, cashew or raisins, have fallen. And most of the decline has come in American almond kernel". He told good quality almonds that were available at Rs 700/kg two months back, is now available at Rs 550 and even less.

Indian Army Officer, 2 Jawans Killed in Clash with China's PLA in Galwan Valley
An Indian Army Colonel and two Army jawans are killed in action during a clash with Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley, Ladakh. "During the de-escalation process in Galwan Valley, a violent face-off took place last night with casualties. There are loss of lives on the Indian side of an officer & 2 soldiers. The senior military officials of two sides are presently meeting at the venue to defuse the situation," the Indian Army said.

Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain Hospitalised with Fever; Covid-19 Test Result Awaited
Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain was hospitalised on Monday night after he complained of fever and breathing problem. He has been admitted to the Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital. He tweeted on Tuesday, "Due to high grade fever and a sudden drop of my oxygen levels last night I have been admitted to RGSSH. Will keep everyone updated". As per reports, the minister has undergone coronavirus test, the result of which will be available today.

Latest Monsoon 2020 Updates
After a respite for nearly 2 weeks, the maximum temperature in northern India began to rise again with parts of Rajasthan witnessing a heatwave-like condition. In Bikaner, the temperature went up to 46.2 degrees Celsius on 15 June 2020, followed by Barmer, Ganganagar & Jaisalmer at 45.3, 45.0 & 46.2 degrees. PTI said that Met department has forecast slow advancement of monsoon this week. IMD has predicted light showers at some places in the state but the heatwave is expected to prevail for at least next 24 hours.
