IMD Predicts Heavy Spell of Rains from 18th to 21st Sep
On 17th September (Friday), the India Meteorological Department predicted the increase in rainfall activity in 2 states along with a fresh spell of heavy falls over East India from 18th September (Saturday). The cyclonic circulation & fairly widespread heavy rains along with isolated heavy falls are likely over Rajasthan, Gujarat & West Madhya Pradesh during the 3 days. In the latest weather update, IMD said that the rainfall activity over Gujarat is likely to increase from 19th September (Sunday). There will be widespread rainfall activity along with isolated heavy to very heavy falls likely over East Rajasthan & Gujarat State from 19th to 21st September.

Centre Says, Wholesale Edible Oil Prices are Declining
On 17th September (Friday) the Centre said that the prices of 8 types of edible oils in wholesale markets across the country are showing a decline in the trend over last week after it took several measures to boost the domestic supply & curb hoarding. The wholesale prices of mustard oil, coconut oil, sunflower oil, palm oil, sesame oil, groundnut & vanaspati declined during the week ended 14th September.
