  • LOTUS Project: IIT Guwahati, Bombay Collaborate with European Partners to Address Water Issues

    The LOTUS Indo-European project, a collaboration between the Department of Science and Technology and the European Commission, aims to provide solutions to problems with water quality in Indian households and elsewhere. The LOTUS project is built around a novel water quality sensor developed at Ecole Polytechnique in Paris, France. During the project, researchers at Universite Gustave Eiffel collaborated with IIT Guwahati and the SME EGM, Sophia Antipolis, France, to further develop the sensor. 

     

  • Coromandel International Observed Farmer's Day as 'Stewardship Day'

    Coromandel's field teams held a number of farmer meetings across the country on Farmer's Day to educate farmers on pesticide safety, including how to use them, how to handle them, the harmful effects of careless use, how to read the labels on the packages, how much to use, how to use protective equipment when spraying, and more. On December 23, 2022, their ten divisions successfully celebrated Stewardship Day. A total of 150 meetings were held across India, with over 10,000 farmers participating. The campaign for the Safe Use of Agrochemicals was led by regional teams in collaboration with Head Office teams. Events have also been covered by the media in a few countries.

     

  • 1st Expo Organic North East: SIMFED to Organize India’s Biggest Trade Fair on Organic

    The first Expo on Organic North East is scheduled to take place from February 3rd to 5th, 2023; an immersive experience into the world of organic fruits and vegetables hosted by the Department of Agriculture in Assan and organised by the Sikkim State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Ltd (SIMFED), with Krishi Jagran as the media partner for the three-day expo. This will include a high-quality exhibition from leading companies in naturals, organics, and exports, as well as agribusinesses, B2B meetings, B2C events, international and domestic buyer delegations, an International Conference, Farmers' Workshop, and government/department pavilions.

     

  • Hyderabad-Based Drone Start-Up Bags ‘Type Certificate’ Approval From DGCA

    Marut Drones, a drone tech firm, announced on Tuesday that its AG 365 Agricopter has become the first multi-purpose, medium-category agriculture drone in India to receive the Directorate General of Civil Aviation's "type certificate" clearance. According to the company, its Kisan Drone AG 365 has been manufactured in India and was created to aid farmers in reducing crop losses, reducing the usage of agrochemicals, increasing yields, and revenues. With the issuance of the type certificate, purchasers of AG 365 will be qualified for Rs 10 lakh of unsecured loans from the Agri Infrastructure Fund with an interest rate of 5-6 per cent, as well as 50–100 per cent subsidy from the Indian government. 

     

  • Manasi Tata to Head Kirloskar Joint Venture Pvt. Ltd.

    Kirloskar Joint Venture Board is to be headed by Manasi Tata after the passing of Vikram Kirloskar, the Chairman and Managing Director of Kirloskar Systems Private Ltd (KSPL). Manasi Tata is the only daughter of Vikram Kirloskar and Geetanjali Kirloskar. The company announced on Monday, Manasi, 33-year-old will take over as the Director of Kirloskar Systems. She has been the CEO and Executive Director of the company and now she is all set to head the company, following her father’s footsteps. She will lead Kirloskar Joint Venture Board which include companies such as Toyota Industries Engine India, Kirloskar Toyota Textile Machinery, Toyota Material Handling India and Denso Kirloskar Industries.
