  • Kirloskar Introduces Power Tillers with K-Cool Technology Engines

    Kirloskar Oil Engines Limited (KOEL) has launched its latest power tiller equipped with K-Cool technology engines. The 12 HP and 15 HP power tillers with self-start engines can work round the clock. Farmers had a hands-on experience of the product in its actual working environment. More than 500 farmers, custom hires, and leaders from Sangli and Satara districts, as also the village Sarpanch attended the event.

  • RMAI Announces Winners for 14th Edition of Flame Students Awards

    Rural Marketing Association of India (RMAI), the industry body of rural marketers, has announced the winners for the 14th edition of Flame Student Awards with a grand virtual ceremony that took place on 26th June 2022. The initiative by RMAI recognizes the best projects by management students from across India in the rural segment. This edition of the event saw participation from students of prestigious management institutes like the Institute of Rural Management Anand, Army Institute of Management, IRM Jaipur, IABMI Anand, IIM Kashipur, IIPM Bengaluru, Jamia Millia Islamia, JBIMS Mumbai, KIIT Bhuwaneshwar, ICAR - NAARM, Shiv Nadar University, WeSchool (Welingkar Institute of Management), Lovely Professional University (LPU), among others.

  • New Wage Code to Start from July 1

    According to media reports, there could be significant changes in terms of salary restructuring, PF and gratuity component, working hours, and Earned Leaves if the Modi government implements four labor codes on wages, social security, industrial relations, occupation safety, health, and working conditions starting tomorrow (July 1).  The new wage code will affect all the previously listed factors if these labor rules are put into effect. Since these are only early rumors, nothing firm should be proposed until the government formally announces the regulations.

    Krishi Jagran conducted a webinar on “Disease and Pest Management in Paddy” on Wednesday, 29th June 2022. Since the monsoon season is around the corner, paddy becomes more prone to insect-pest attacks during this time. The aim of the webinar was to highlight the challenges that farmers face due to insect pests and provide them with appropriate solutions and measures to prevent their crops from such attacks.

  • SOPA Urges Govt to Roll Back Customs Duty Exemption on Edible Oils

    The Soybean Processors Association of India (SOPA) has urged the Union government to gradually phase out the exemption from customs duty on edible oils in order to stem the fall in domestic soyabean prices. SOPA Chairman Davish Jain stated in a letter to Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal that recent policy initiatives, such as the reduction of customs duty on edible oils, have resulted in a 15-26 percent drop in the prices of both imported and domestic edible oils in the last month. The drop in edible oil prices has also contributed to a significant drop in domestic soyabean prices.
