  • The First Donkey Farming Center to Open in Karnataka, Bantwal

    On June 8, all preparations are underway for the opening of a massive donkey farming and model training center in Ira, the taluk's first of its kind in Karnataka and just the second in the country. Through Isiri farms, this center will provide comprehensive agriculture and animal husbandry, veterinary services, training, and fodder development. Srinivas Gowda, a software developer from Ramanagara, will lead the center.

    Haryana farmers are finding it tough to safeguard their crops from weather conditions due to the electricity supply to feeders being cut to five hours during the warmth and extended dry spells. Farmers claim that the five-hour energy supply to farm feeders is insufficient because they rely on tube well water to keep their crops alive.

  • Crop Insurance Will be Given for Pomegranate as well as Other Horticultural Crops: CM Bommai

    Basavaraj Bommai, the Chief Minister of Karnataka, announced on Saturday that his cabinet has agreed to approve a proposal to expand crop insurance to pomegranate and other horticulture crops as well. The drinking water program for 171 villages in Chitradurga and 131 villages in Hiriyur has been authorized, the Chief Minister said in his address after launching a series of development projects, including filling irrigation lakes in Hiriyur from the Vedavati river lift irrigation project.

    On Monday, June 6, 2022, the price of gasoline and diesel stayed steady for the 15th day in a row across the country. The prices were last changed on May 22 in the national capital, when petrol was decreased by Rs 8.69 per liter and diesel by Rs 7.05.

    ASM Foundation organized a four-day conference on "Climate Resilient and Sustainable Development of Horticulture" in collaboration with Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology.
