• Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying approves research on new drugs

  Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying has signed MoU to start research on quality drugs for the animals used in farming. The research will be done on how medicinal herbs can be used in medicines to cure or protect farm animals. Courses on Ayurveda and medicinal herbs will be started so that students can research and produce effective drugs.

• Technology transfer of two indigenously developed vaccines

  CSF & Sheep Pox Vaccines are the indigenously developed technologies by ICAR that have been transferred to Hester Biosciences. Vaccines for CSF will guard the pigs against mortality and sheep pox vaccine can guard the sheep for up to 40 months after vaccination.

• Honey mission to improve farmers income

  MadhuKrantiPortal has been launched by the government. It is expected to increase farmers incomes, give them employment and work towards improving the quality of Indian honey. The details of beekeeping farmers and their hives can be registered on the portal. This data will allow the government to take necessary actions and help the farmers in connecting to the right market and be given correct expertise.

• Unexpected sharp rise in Corona cases

  Despite 8 crore doses of Corona vaccines having been administered, the daily occurrence of Corona cases are rising sharply in India. There have been over 1.29 crore cases out of which 1.66 lakhs have died and 1.185 crore patients have recovered.

• Memorial for protestors who died during the ongoing protests

  The agitating farmers have planned to build a memorial for the protestors who have died while protesting. So far about 320, protestors have died during the agitation which has been in national highlights for over 4 months.

• Delhi air quality moderate till 10th April

  Air quality over Delhi will remain in the moderate category till Saturday.  Winds are coming into Delhi from North and North-West directions. Pollution will not be dispersed easily by these winds.

• Narendra Modi vaccinated with 2nd Corona dosage

  Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has announced on twitter his vaccination with 2nd dosage. He has published a picture of him receiving the vaccine and  suggested those eligible to register on COWIN.GOV.IN.

• Pradhan Mantri Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises initiative

  This scheme will provide small subsidies of up to Rs 40,000 to the eligible farmer for purchasing tools and as working capital. Two ministries have converged on this initiative as its aims are common to both of them. The ministries are MoFPI and MoRD as this initiative is for small food processing units in the rural areas.

• Biostimulants industry to be regularized

  All biostimulants will now be governed by the same laws that govern fertilizers. Biostimulants have a huge market and are being provided unregulated. The government has ordered these to specify name, ingredient chemicals with date of expiry.
