Indian Sugar Mills Association (ISMA) is proud to announce the 10th Annual Sugar & Ethanol Asia Conference in New Delhi from November 5 to 6, 2019. With millers facing a choice of producing sugar for end-users or ethanol, the market faces a growing conundrum.

Sugar markets have faced record high crop production leading to a heavy surplus weighing on global sugar prices. While consumer concerns and economic downturns are affecting market demand.

Sugarcane-derived ethanol provides one outlet for sugar producers. Ethanol demand is rising due to a global push for cleaner-ethanol blended gasoline. However, sugar producers face stiff competition from inexpensive US corn-based ethanol imports at the ports and consumer skepticism at the pumps. With the market in flux what can we expect for 2020 and beyond?

What’s new this year?

Special coverage of what is driving the price for sugar Deep dive analysis of the latest sugar and ethanol trends Broad coverage of economics, policy and regulatory updates Powerhouse case studies; India, Brazil, the US, China and Bangladesh Thought leadership panels focusing across the sugar and ethanol supply chains.
