Krishi Jagran Team Meets Narendra Tomar; Congratulates Him on Assuming Charge of Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare

Shri M C Dominic, Editor-in-Chief, Krishi Jagran met Union Minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar  and congratulated him  on officially  assuming charge of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. 

Shri Dominic presented him a bouquet of flowers on behalf of the Krishi Jagran Team. On this occasion a set of 23 editions of the Krishi Jagran was also presented to the minister.   Krishi Jagran apprised Shri Tomar about its 23 editions, 12 languages magazines and its name in the Limca Book of Records. 

The minister was very keen to listen and know about the activities of Krishi Jagran team. In his first meeting with the Agriculture Media, Shri Tomar lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his dynamic leadership and concern for farmers of the country.  He also praised Modi Government for approving the extension of PM-Kisan income support scheme to all farmers, removing the ceiling of two hectares, and also for sanctioning a pension scheme for agriculturists. 

The minister added that the path breaking pension scheme will provide financial support to farmers who toil day and night to keep the nation fed.  It is also for the first time since Independence that such a pension coverage has been envisioned for farmers. 

On PM-Kisan scheme, he said that the revised scheme is expected to cover around two crore more farmers, increasing the coverage of PM-Kisan to around 14.5 crore beneficiaries.  Tomar urged the ministry officials to make a lasting contribution in their respective fields for the growth of agricultural production and welfare of farmers. 

Narendra Singh Tomar on Saturday, took charge of the Agriculture Ministry, and said various measures are being taken to empower farmers.
