According to CTTA officials, the total offerings totaled 2,46,299 packages (71,22,834 kg) and included 1,31,783 packages of CTC leaf, 72,850 packages of Orthodox, 3,417 packages of Darjeeling leaf, and 38,249 packages of Dust teas.
This week's CTC leaf saw a healthy demand, with 23,60,214 kg sold at an average price of Rs 200.15 per kg. The majority of demand fell between Rs 150 and Rs 200 per kg. At a lower price level, approximately 24.51 percent was claimed, while 19.06 percent was demanded at a higher price level.
Western India was an enthusiastic supporter. Hindustan Unilever was aggressive, whereas TCPL was cautious. Exporters reported receiving fair support. Orthodox leaf was in high demand, with approximately 85.44 percent (including 14,26,195 kg) of the offered quantity being claimed at an average price of Rs 273.98 per kg.
Around 69.59% of total demand was observed above Rs 250 per kg, while only 7.23% was observed below Rs 150 per kg. The Middle East received strong backing, and the CIS was also active in market operations.
Darjeeling leaf was also in high demand during this sale, with a total of 43,875 kg sold at an average price of Rs 347.72 per kg. Operators were interested in lower and higher price levels, with 36.98% purchasing below Rs 200 and 31.83% purchasing above Rs 500 per kg. Local and internal operators provided excellent assistance. Hindustan Unilever and TCPL were active, as were exporters.
This week's dust offerings were in high demand. A total of 10,02,816 kg was sold in various categories at an average price of Rs 215.08 per kg.
Approximately 32.27 percent of total demand was registered at or above Rs 250 per kg, while approximately 16.79 percent was claimed at or below Rs 150 per kg. Western India provided excellent research. Hindustan Unilever and TCPL were active, while local operators received favourable treatment.
