Piarom Dates

Origin: These are grown in the Persian Gulf and middle east zones.

Taste: Piarom has a unique sweet taste, which has some features of toffee and caramel.

Color: They are semi-dried dates and have dark brown to black color.

Size: Piarom dates range in size from 2 to 5 cm and are long, thin, and oval in shape.

Deglet Nour Dates

Origin: It originated from the Algerian oasis of Tolga and the nearby communities of Biskra and Oued Righ.

Taste: Deglet dates have a smooth, meaty, and sweet flavor.

Color: Additionally, these dates are a dark golden brown in color.

Size: Deglet Nour dates are medium in size and have an oval form that is elongated.

Mazafati Dates

Origin: Mazafati dates were first produced at Bam, a city in Kerman, Iran.

Taste: It has a soft taste of honey, brown sugar, and chocolate.

Color: Mazafati Dates are soft dark brown in color. 

Size: It is not fair to discuss various date types without mentioning mazafati. Size varies from 2.5 to 4 cm.

Medjool Dates

Origin: Morocco, Palestine, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia are the main growing regions for medjool dates.

Taste: They are sweet and soft.

Color: These dates are in a reddish-brown color.

Size: Medjool dates are enormous and have a fibrous texture.

Barhi Dates

Origin: It also originated from Iraq.

Taste: These dates are the sweetest and creamiest dates, which also slightly tastes like honey, butterscotch, brown sugar, and syrup.

Color: Barhi dates are yellow in color.

Size: These dates are small in size, 2 to 3-4 cm in length and diameter, and have around to oval shape.

Thoory Dates

Origin: Thoory Dates are originated from Algeria and also very famous in Algeria.

Taste: These are cute dry, semi-sweet, and have a peanut like nuts flavour. 

Color: Thoory date is among the types of khajur which has typical golden-brown in Color.

Size: These dates are sized from medium to large and are oblong in shape. 

Ameri Dates

Origin: Ameri dates are also originated from Iraq.

Taste: These are moderate sweet taste.

Color: However, they are light to dark brown color.

Size: Ameri dates are oval-shaped and elongated, range between 12 and 22 grams.

Khudri Dates

Origin: Khudri is cultivated in Saudi Arabia.

Taste: These are moderately sweet, chewy, and not much dry dates.

Kalmi Dates

Origin: These types of khajoor are originated from Oman but generally cultivated in Madinah.

Taste:  These dates are seeet, nutty flavor with enriched sweetness.

Color: Kalmi dates are black in color.

Size: kalmi are one of the alternatives of Safawi dates. They are small and cylindrical in size

Omani

Origin: As the name itself recommends that it is originated from Oman, Middle East.

Taste: These are sweet and juicy in taste.

Color: Omani dates are dark brown in color.

Size: Omani are one of the best varieties of dates which are usually large in size.
