Allflex Livestock Intelligence on 6 November 2019 announced the opening of a new manufacturing, packaging and warehousing facility in Gurugram, India, for the manufacture of animal identification visual ear tags for India and export to other countries in the Asia Pacific Region. The company’s animal identification business develops and markets visual ear tags (VID) that contain printed identification numbers unique to the animal or the farm, helping dairy farmers and producers track animal traceability and proof of ownership as well as comply with government regulations. The fully operational site has received a factory license from the Directorate of Industrial Safety & Health, Labour Department in Haryana, Chandigarh, which will allow the company to continue its manufacturing operations.

Lokesh Kothari, Commercial Leader, Allflex Livestock Intelligence in India said, “We are delighted and honored to inaugurate this new facility in Gurugram, as we begin an exciting new stage of our business journey towards extending the range of leading technology, experience and services for our customers in India". He said, “We have been in the Indian market for 10 years and continually look to create new ways and processes to better serve our customers. We also are strengthening our local investment in building our manufacturing and warehousing capacity and capabilities so that we remain a valued partner to our local customers through our reliability, flexibility and responsiveness. This new facility positions our company for strong long-term growth.”

Jeroen said, “We are working closely with the Indian Government’s Information Network on Animal Production and Health (INAPH) to lend our expertise in managing hundreds of millions of dairy cows in the country to safeguard animal health and well-being, while achieving optimal health treatment and interventions.”

“The factory license from the Directorate of Industrial Safety & Health, Labour Department in Haryana, Chandigarh, has great symbolic significance for Allflex Livestock Intelligence and our India manufacturing facility. Receiving this designation from the Government of India underscores our ongoing dedication to ensure that our products will be of exceptional quality and our continued commitment to meet and exceed the industry’s highest safety standards,” said Kothari.

“As a leader in delivering innovative pharmaceuticals and vaccines to advance animal health and meet growing customer needs, this investment in people, technology and equipment reflects our commitment to produce a range of veterinary pharmaceuticals, vaccines and health management solutions and services as well as an extensive suite of digitally connected identification, traceability and monitoring products,” said Rick DeLuca, President, MSD Animal Health.
