Jaggery or most commonly known as ‘Gur’ is one of the healthy sweeteners to add in your meal. ‘Gur’ and tomato chutney is one of the tastiest and healthiest chutney to warm up your taste in the cold days. Moreover, eating jaggery is a very good idea to warm up your body in the winter season. You can also prepare sour and sweet chutney by mixing it with tomatoes. This chutney is very tasty along with many health benefits which makes it a must-have for winter season.  

How to Make Jaggery Tomato Sauce?

Jaggery Tomato Chutney Recipe (Gur tomato chutney)

Ingredients- tomato, jaggery, nigella, fennel, turmeric, vinegar, cumin, red chilli, chaat masala.

To make tomato and jaggery chutney, you need tomato, jaggery, nigella, fennel, turmeric, vinegar, cumin, red chilli, chaat masala will be required.

Step 1- First wash the tomatoes with water. 

Step 2- After this cut them finely. Now grind the chopped tomatoes.

Step 3- After this, take a pan and heat oil in it.

Step 4- When the oil is hot, add fennel and fennel/cumin seeds to it.

Step 5- Now put tomato paste in the pan and fry for some time. Now add red chili powder, turmeric, salt, chaat masala, and black pepper according to your taste. After adding all the ingredients, cook the mixture well.

Step 6- When the oil starts separating in the pan, add jaggery to it. Also, add a little water. This will melt the jaggery quickly. After the jaggery melts, the water will dry and the chutney will thicken on its own. If this happens, then add vinegar to the sauce.
