Shri K. U. Thankachen Appointed as Director (Marketing) of RCFL

Shri K. U. Thankachen, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, has become the Director (Marketing) of Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited (RCFL) on 11th December, 2018.

He will serve for a period of five years or till the date of his superannuation, or until further orders, whichever is the earliest.

Shri K.U.Thankachen is MBA with specialisation in Marketing from Department of Commerce & Management Studies, University of Calicut in the year 1986. He is a seasoned professional in the field of logistics and warehousing having the work experience of over 30 years.

Talking about his career, Shri K.U.Thankachen started working with Airports Authority of India and joined Container Corporation of India Ltd. He has served many important positions in Marketing, Commercial and Operations functions within CONCOR.

Shri K.U.Thankachen was also posted as Chief General Manager, Central Region of CONCOR at Nagpur having jurisdiction of 5 terminals at Nagpur, Bhusawal, Aurangabad; Raipur and Mandideep.

He was posted as head of the largest Inland Container Depot in Asia at Tughlakabad, New Delhi and has attended a one year international management programme organised by International Centre for Promotion of Enterprises, Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Interestingly, Shri K.U.Thankachen who joined as Director (Marketing) of RCF on 11th December, 2018 has merely within 16 days increased its share to 0.79%. It is a big thing in itself, assuming a bright future of RCF with the hardwork and efforts of Shri K.U.Thankachen.

Shares of Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited (NSE:RCF) last traded at 63.45. It represents a move of 0.79%, or 0.5 per share, on volume of 1.37M shares. After opening the trading day at 63.25, shares of RCFL has traded in a close range.

Currently RCFL has a total float of 551.28 million shares and on average sees 1.10 million shares exchange hands each day. The stock now has a 52-week low of 54.75 and high of 111.4.

Before joining RCF as Director (Marketing), Shri Thankachen was Managing Director (MD) of Central Railside Warehouse Company Limited (CRWC).

CRWC under the leadership of MD Shri Thankachen has also signed an agreement with the Editor of Krishi Jagran, M.C. Dominic. Krishi Jagran is a leading Agri-Media News Portal in India.

The Union Government has launched e- Rashtriya Kisan Agri Mandi (e- RaKAM) to provide a platform for farmers to sell agricultural produce. It is a digital initiative that aims to bring together the farmers, PSUs, civil supplies and buyers on a single platform to ease the selling and buying process of agricultural products. It has been developed by state run auctioneer MSTC Limited and CRWC.
