The ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Education (CIFE), Mumbai, is seeking a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) to join the project titled "Genetic Improvement of Common Carp Cyprinus carpio for Inland Saline Aquaculture: Strain development for underutilized water resources (Phase I)" under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY). This is a good opportunity for candidates to be a part of an innovative research initiative aimed at enhancing the productivity and sustainability of inland saline aquaculture.

M.F.Sc. in any discipline of Fisheries Science

Experience in Genetics, Biotechnology, Aquaculture, Soil and Water Analysis, Molecular Biology, Statistical Data Analysis

Collection of stocks and transportation

Induced spawning of fish

PIT tagging

Nursery rearing and feeding management

Genetic analysis of data

Inland saline aquaculture

Proficiency in computer applications and report writing is essential.

Strong communication skills are a must.
Place of Posting: The selected candidate will be posted at ICAR-CIFE Rohtak.
Salary: Salary will be as per ICAR/DST rules plus HRA as applicable.
Age Limit: Maximum age limit is 35/40 years (with age relaxation of five years for SC/ST & women and three years for OBC).
The positions are purely temporary and can be terminated on one month’s notice or termination of the project (i.e., March 2025).
