IIG Recruitment 2023: Apply Before 20th April
Indian Institute of Geomagnetism (IIG), an autonomous research institute under the Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India is offering a Doctoral Programme in Geomagnetism and Allied Fields pertinent to studies of Solid Earth, Space Weather, Upper Atmospheric / Ionospheric Physics and Space Plasma Physics. Interested candidates are advised to go through the below-mentioned details before applying.
Tenure: Tenure and fellowship/stipend to the JRF/SRF are as per prevailing CSIR/UGC guidelines.

Eligibility:
- A minimum of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA grade is required throughout the M.Sc./M.Sc. (Tech.) program in disciplines such as Physics, Geophysics, Space Physics, Applied Geology, and Applied Mathematics. Additionally, applicants should have studied Physics or Mathematics at the B.Sc./undergraduate level.
- Applicants who are currently in their final year of the Master's program in the aforementioned subjects in 2023 are eligible to apply. However, they must provide the necessary documents demonstrating their eligibility at the time of joining the institute if they are selected.
Maximum Age: 25 years as on 1 July, 2023

Location: The selected candidate will carry out his/her research work either at IIG Headquarters in Navi Mumbai or any one of the regional centres (EGRLTirunelveli/KSKGRL-Prayagraj/NEGRL- Shillong) of IIG.
Selection Criteria:
- Candidates who are in possession of the GATE/NET/INSPIRE-JRF certificate(s) valid up to January 2025 or later, in the above-mentioned subjects, may be called for the interview directly.
- If applicants do not have a valid GATE/NET/INSPIRE certificate or have not passed any of the above tests, they will need to take a written test and participate in a personal interview at IIG, Navi Mumbai. However, if they are chosen, they will have to pass one of these tests within one year, as specified by the university where they plan to enroll for their Ph.D.
