National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS), Pune, an autonomous institution under the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, invites eligible candidates to attend walk-in interviews for various positions under extramural research projects. These positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the respective projects.

Position Overview

1. Senior Research Fellow (SRF)

Project Name: Identifying the role of host F-box proteins, a component of E3 ubiquitin ligase complex, in HIV-1 pathogenesis and their potential use as therapeutic targets.
Number of Positions: 1

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

Postgraduate Degree in Basic Science or Professional Course.
Candidates must have cleared CSIR-UGC NET, GATE, or equivalent national-level exams.
Minimum of 2 years research experience.

Desirable Experience:

Expertise in Mammalian Cell Culture, Molecular Biology, and Virology is preferred.

Emoluments: Rs. 42,000 + HRA

Age Limit: Not more than 32 years

2. Senior Research Fellow (SRF)

Project Name: JC Bose Fellowship
Number of Positions: 1

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

Postgraduate Degree in Basic Science or Professional Course.
Must have cleared CSIR-UGC NET, GATE, or equivalent.
Minimum of 2 years research experience.

Desirable Experience:

Familiarity with the complement system and macrophage research.

Emoluments: Rs. 42,000 + HRA

Age Limit: Not more than 32 years

3. Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

Project Name: Deciphering the molecular mechanisms of fluid-phase alternative pathway regulation by complement regulatory protein factor H.
Number of Positions: 1

Essential Qualifications:

Postgraduate Degree in Basic Science or Professional Course.
Must have cleared CSIR-UGC NET, GATE, or equivalent national-level exams.

Desirable Experience:

Expertise in Biochemistry, Protein Chemistry, and performing bioassays.

Emoluments: Rs. 37,000 + HRA

Age Limit: Not more than 28 years

4. Project Associate-I

Project Name: VAPB at membrane contact sites: ALS-FTD at the crossroads of ER stress, proteostasis, lipid homeostasis, and inflammation.
Number of Positions: 1

Essential Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Natural/Agricultural Sciences or equivalent.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Technology, or Medicine.

Desirable Experience:

Expertise with Drosophila genetics and behavioral experiments.

Emoluments:

Rs. 31,000 + HRA (for NET/GATE qualified candidates).
Rs. 25,000 + HRA (for non-NET/GATE candidates).

Age Limit: Not more than 35 years

5. Project Associate-I

Project Name: Identifying the neuron-immune pathways that modulate feeding behavior and metabolism in Drosophila.
Number of Positions: 2

Essential Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Natural/Agricultural Sciences or equivalent.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Technology, or Medicine.

Desirable Experience:

Experience in Neurobiology, handling flies as a genetic model, and conducting behavioral experiments.

Emoluments: Rs. 25,000 + HRA

Age Limit: Not more than 35 years

OBC: 3 years (Non-creamy layer certificate required).
No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
