The Division of Microbiology at the ICAR - Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) is inviting eligible candidates to participate in a walk-in interview for the recruitment of temporary posts under a DBT-funded project. The positions available are for one Research Associate and one Project Associate. Below are the details for the available positions:

Project Title: Development of Engineered Azotobacter with Superefficient Biofertilizer Activity

Position 1: Research Associate - 1

Number of Posts: 1
Emoluments: Rs. 58,000/- + 27% HRA per month

Qualifications:

Essential:

With Doctoral Degree: Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or any related Life Sciences discipline, with relevant experience.
With Master's Degree: Master's degree in the above-mentioned fields with a 4/5 years Bachelor's degree, 1st Division or 60% marks or equivalent, at least three years of research experience, and one research paper in a Science Citation Index (SCI) or NAAS-rated journal.

Desirable: Experience in recombinant DNA technology.

Position 2: Project Associate - 1

Number of Posts: 1
Emoluments: Rs. 31,000/- + 27% HRA per month
Interview Date: June 21, 2024

Qualifications:

Essential:

Master’s Degree: In Plant Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, or allied basic sciences.
Selection Criteria: Candidates must have been selected through National Eligibility Tests (CSIR-UGC NET, GATE) or National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies.

Alternative Emoluments: Rs. 25,000/- + HRA for candidates not falling under the above selection criteria.
Desirable: Experience in recombinant DNA technology.

General Information

Contract Basis: Positions are temporary, initially up to March 31, 2025, and extendable based on project continuation and satisfactory performance.
Age Limit:

Research Associate: Maximum 40 years for men, 45 years for women (relaxation of five years for SC/ST and three years for OBC candidates as per GOI/ICAR rules).
Project Associate: Maximum 35 years for men, 40 years for women (relaxation of five years for SC/ST and three years for OBC candidates as per GOI/ICAR rules).
