The Indian Institute of Rice Research (formerly known as Directorate of Rice Research) has announced an opening for a Senior Research Fellow position under the DBT-sanctioned project titled “Genome engineering of host genes for Yellow Stem borer (YSB) and Brown Plant Hopper (BPH) resistance using CRISPR/Cas technology.” Interested candidates are encouraged to apply for this position before the deadline on 26th February 2024, adhering to the prescribed format.

Monthly Emoluments:

Rs. 35,000 + 24% HRA

 Age Limit: 35 years for men and 40 years for women

Qualifications

Essential:

Master’s degree in Agriculture or life sciences (specializations in Plant Biotechnology, Plant Molecular Biology, Plant Science, Genetics and Plant Breeding, Entomology) with National Eligibility Test (NET) qualification (ICAR-NET, CSIR-UGC, DBT-BET, GATE) and a minimum of two years of research experience.

Desirable:

Experience in plant molecular biology, genetic transformation, functional genomics, tissue culture techniques, biotechnology lab-related techniques, and gene editing.
