12 crore Farmers benefited from the PM Kisan Yojana so far

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is popularly known as PM Kisan Yojana. This scheme first came into effect from 1st December, 2018 and it was announced on 1st February 2019. The PM Kisan scheme officially launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 24th February 2019, in Gorakhpur.

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is popularly known as PM Kisan Yojana. This scheme first came into effect from 1st December, 2018 and it was announced on 1st February 2019. The PM Kisan scheme officially launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 24th February 2019, in Gorakhpur.

PM Kisan Yojana Scheme launched by the government of India for farmers of the country. This is a 75,000-crore scheme and its main focus is to cover 125 million farmers, irrespective of the size of their landholdings. This scheme provides the financial assistance to all the marginal and small farmers, through this scheme the farmers can get up to Rs 6,000 per year as a minimum income support across the country in three equal installments of Rs 2,000 each and the amount is directly transferred to the bank account of the farmer.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also transferred the first installment of PM Kisan Yojana to 1 crore farmers ahead of the Lok Sabha elections in 2019. Farmers who have cultivable landholdings are the eligible farmers for the PM Kisan Yojana scheme and they get the first installment of this scheme between December to March, and second & third installment is between April & July and August & November.


According to the Ministry of Agriculture Data, around 12 crore farmers have benefitted from the PM Kisan scheme so far. Also, the government of India has decided to take strict action against the fake or ineligible beneficiaries of the scheme and they have found some of them in the Jharkhand, who were taking benefits of the PM Kisan Scheme, and for this the government of India has filed a fraud case against them.

Not only this, in 2020 the Ministry of Agriculture found 4% fake and ineligible beneficiaries out of 12 lakh eligible beneficiaries. The government of India has announced that the farmers who have not registered for the PM Kisan Scheme can register themselves before the end of 30th June.
