1st G20 'Culture Track Meet' to be Held in Khajuraho from Feb 22-25

The first G20 meeting under the culture track is scheduled for the last week of February in Madhya Pradesh's Khajuraho, which is home to exquisite temples that are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. According to a senior official, the meeting will take place from February 22-25.

The G-20 is an intergovernmental forum comprised of the world's major developed and developing economies. Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the European Union comprise the EU bloc.

On December 1, India assumed the G20 presidency. During this time, over 200 meetings will be held in 55 different locations across the country, culminating in a summit in September in Delhi.

The first G20 Tourism Working Group meeting was held from February 7-9 in Gujarat's pristine Runn of Kutch. The Maharaja Chhatrasal Convention Centre in Khajuraho will host the G20 Culture Working Group meeting.

"The Culture Working Group of the G20 under India's presidency is a testament to a progressive approach in line with the new global paradigm in which the culture and creative sector is recognized as an enabler on political, economic, and social levels," he said.

"I cordially invite the G20 community to participate in this historic development dialogue that will pave the way for future growth," Reddy said in a written message.

The Khajuraho temples, famous for their sculptures, are located in Madhya Pradesh's backward Bundelkhand region.

The G20, or Group of Twenty, is an intergovernmental forum comprised of 19 countries and the European Union. It works to address major global economic issues such as global finance stability, mitigation of climate change, and sustainable development.
