Entry of Agthia in a joint venture for distribution of forage products in UAE and GCC
In UAE a leading food and beverage group, Agthia Group entered a joint venture with Anderson Hay and Grain Co. Inc. the first explorer of the USA. New company will be emerging after the completion of legal work which will imports Anderson's premium forage products from USA and distribution of these products will be in UAE and GCC.
Agriwta Marabe brand will be launching their first premium forage product. They announced their partnership at the AGRAME exhibition at International convention in Dubai. They also made the commitment to support farming industry as well as nation's food security by providing feed solutions.
"The partnership with Anderson Hay is another testament to our commitment to create value for our shareholders and to support our nation's food security programs. Our combined strength will provide a solid supply and distribution alternative in the UAE and the GCC markets that would be difficult to achieve working independently" said chairman, HE Eng Dhafer Ayed.

Government of Abu Dhabi in 2006 banned growing alfalfa and other animal feed grass to conserve underground water. To stop with the problems in the local productions. Globally awarding 600 thousand metric tons of hay to importers the government entered the gobal importers market. This scheme has been taken to another level for the betterment of farmers across the UAE. now the importation of hay increases by 2.5 million meteric tons per year.
In 2016 net profit of AED 254 million is reported by Agthia. According to this report an increase of 10% on the previous year with net revenues rising by 8%to over AED 2 billion. 33% of the total revenue is represented by the Group's animal feed.
