Ahead of Kisan-Sarkar Milni, Punjab Agri Dept Director Gurvinder Singh Inspects Ludhiana's Mungbean, Maize Fields

Plots of mung bean and maize were visited by the director of the Punjab agricultural department, Gurvinder Singh, and the Ludhiana chief agriculture officer, Narinder Singh Benipal, for the agricultural growth assessment prior to Kisan Sarkar Milni (government and farmer meeting).

The director of the Punjab agricultural department, Gurvinder Singh, and Ludhiana's chief agriculture officer, Narinder Singh Benipal went to Sukhwant Singh's fields in the hamlet of Tharike to assess the demonstration plots of mungbean and maize.

Gurvinder Singh visited Ludhiana on Wednesday to assess the event's preparations and the department's current initiatives in the district before the Kisan-Sarkar Milni (farmer-government meeting) slated for Thursday.

He was pleased to see the work done at the demonstration plots of mungbean and maize in the fields of Sukhwant Singh at Tharike village. Ludhiana's chief agricultural officer Narinder Singh Benipal also accompanied him. 

According to a news portal, he also invited local farmers to attend the meeting, present their insightful recommendations and share the problems they are facing.

To join the Sarkar-Kisan Milni, he advised farmers to get in touch with their local block agriculture officer, agricultural development officer, or agricultural extension officer.

Noticeably, the agricultural department has arranged buses for the farmers to attend the gathering.

Furthermore, the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) is all set to organize the second Punjab Sarkar-Kisan Milni and NRI Farmers’ Convention on May 11 and 12 on 'Experience Exchange for Punjab Farmers’ Welfare.

The NRI farmer-Punjab farmer association will be held in Hoshiarpur on May 12 at Sher Gill Farm on Una Road. Up to 15 progressive farmers from Canada, Australia, Tanzania, the United States of America, and Zambia will talk about their extensive experience in cultivation abroad at the NRI Farmers' Conclave and suggest creative recommendations for maximizing the farm revenue. A meeting between Punjab farmers and NRI farmers will take place in Hoshiarpur on May 12 at Sher Gill Farm on Una Road.
