Amit Shah releases BJP manifesto for West Bengal Elections; Promises Rs. 10000 for Farmers, 33% Reservation for Women in Govt. Jobs

BJP leader and Home Minister, Amit Shah today (21 March 2021) released the party's manifesto for the upcoming Assembly Elections in West Bengal.

The manifesto named 'Sanklap Patra' has promised 33% reservation for women in the state government jobs. In addition, the BJP manifesto promises to make Bengali an official language at the UN, set up a fund to promote Bengali culture and establish an anti-corruption helpline.

For the farming community, Home Minister said that if BJP government is voted to power then along with financial assistance of Rs 6000 that the Centre provides to farmers, an extra Rs 4000 will be added to make a total of Rs 10,000 per year.

Shah further said that "Continuing PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, Rs 18,000, which Mamata didi did not give to the farmers since three years, would be transferred to 75 lakh farmers' bank accounts without any deduction”.

He said under Krishak Suraksha Yojana, a financial help of Rs. 4,000 / year will be given to every landless farmer. Not only this the BJP government will also work to provide assistance of Rs. 6000 per year to fishermen, according to the manifesto.

It must be noted that West Bengal is set to witness a big battle between the Bhartiya Janata Party and the ruling TMC for the upcoming Assembly elections.

Elections to the 294-member state Assembly would be held in 8 phases beginning from 27th March 2021 with the final round of voting taking place on 29th April 2021. The counting of votes will be done on May 2.
