Applications Invited for ‘ASPEE L. M. Patel Farmer of the Year Award 2020’; Check Method to Apply & Other Details

They have been diligently working towards helping farmers to upgrade their status in society. Recently, it has announced the “ASPEE L.M. Patel Farmer of the Year 2020” and invited application for this prestigious award from farmers across the country.

They have been diligently working towards helping farmers to upgrade their status in society. Recently, it has announced the “ASPEE L.M. Patel Farmer of the Year 2020” and invited application for this prestigious award from farmers across the country. 

The award will be given in different category including ‘Horticulture Category-Papaya Cultivation’, ‘Winter Farming Category-Castor’ and most importantly ‘Women Farmer Category-Innovative Ideas in increasing shelf-life of Horticultural Produce in Agriculture’. This award will bring out the most innovative farmers into the limelight and the awardees will be honored with a trophy, 1 Lakh Cash Prize and Citation.  

How to Apply

Here is how you can fill application for this award:

Step 1: Ask for “Preliminary Proforma” from the ASPEE office at the address given overleaf or you can download the form directly from the website www.aspeefoundation.org. Duly filled Photocopy of the form must be retained by the farmer.  

Step 2: Nomination Form will be sent to the shortlisted farmers only. The duly filled in nomination form having a recommendation of nominating authority given below may be sent to the ASPEE Foundation office at Mumbai. The form should be sent in triplicate (1 original + 2 duplicate) or else the form shall not be considered. ASPEE Foundation will get in touch with the shortlisted candidates.  

Step 3: Nomination Form will be scrutinized by a Committee and video shooting will be conducted on the farms of the shortlisted farmers on a date mutually convenient to the farmer and the ASPEE Foundation. 

 

NOTE - Video shooting of the shortlisted farmers for the Award 2020 will be conducted in the year 2020-21 only during peak period/harvesting. The farmers shortlisted should also grow the same crops identified for the Award in the year 2020 for conducting video shooting. 

 

Important dates

Last date for receiving duly filled in Preliminary Proforma - 15-12-2019 and the  

Last date for receiving a duly filled in Nomination form at ASPEE Foundation office is-15-04-2020. 

 

Know the Eligibility Criteria- 

Horticulture Category- Papaya Cultivation 

  1. The farmer must have at least 1 acre of the area under Papaya cultivation in one place.  
  2. Must be producing this crop for at least the last 3 years

‘Winter Farming Category-Castor’  

  1. The farmer must have at least 1 acre solely under Castor in one place. 
  2. Must be growing this crop for at least last 3 years

‘Women Farmer Category-Innovative Ideas in increasing shelf-life of Horticultural Produce in Agriculture’ 

  1. The farmer must have at least 2 to 3 innovative ideas to increase shelf life. 
  2. She must be practicing this for last 3 years. 
  3. Ideas should be developed or modified by self for increasing the shelf life of fruits and vegetables.  
  4. The technology must be commercialized.

Selection criteria:  

In addition to the eligibility, special emphasis will be given to the following: 

  • Efficient and effective use of inputs, resources, water, land, etc. by the adoption of modern agricultural technologies. 
  • The farmer should be a role model for farming communities helping fellow farmers in adopting new technologies.
