Kataria asked university's scientists and teaching faculty to devote their research towards increasing agricultural productivity and improving farmers' quality of life. Governor also emphasized the need of paying farmers a fair price for their produce while speaking with the teaching community.
He encouraged university students to pursue the field of agro-entrepreneurship. He encouraged the students to be entrepreneurial and to promote agro-entrepreneurship, which not only provides financial freedom but also increases agricultural output.
When speaking with the students, he gathered critical information about their research activities and encouraged them to continue working to achieve spectacular progress in agriculture. Given Assam Agricultural University's vital position in agricultural research and the resulting increase in agricultural outputs, the Governor urged the university community to spearhead groundbreaking research for the benefit of the agriculture sector and the well-being of farmers.
He also advised the university fraternity to take an interest in natural farming because the state represents a potential channel for natural farming expansion. Governor Kataria also paid a visit to Assam Women's University and spoke with students and faculty.
"Assam Women's University is an academic stronghold for women's education and serves as a critical pillar in advancing women's education in the state and empowering them through higher education," he stated. The Governor requested the university's teaching fraternity to take the lead in women's transformative education and to empower the state's human resources.
Dr Bidyut Chandan Deka, VC of AAU, Dr Ajanta Borgohain Rajkonwor, DC of Jorhat Pulak Mahanta, and a host of other dignitaries were present during the visit.
