Union Minister of Textiles, Commerce & Industry, Consumer Affairs and Food & Public Distribution Piyush Goyal has commended the industry bodies of the textile sector for their significant role in organizing Bharat Tex 2024, which is poised to become the world's largest textiles event. The minister presided over the curtain raiser event for the exhibition held at Vanijya Bhavan in New Delhi today.

Minister Goyal underscored that Bharat Tex 2024 Expo is not merely an event but a testament to India's dedication to becoming a global textile powerhouse. Rooted in innovation, collaboration, and the spirit of Make in India, this exhibition epitomizes India's 5F vision - Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign, producing goods not just for the domestic market but for the global stage. He emphasized that India is no longer apprehensive of global competition and encouraged the industry to build brands with global recognition while simultaneously elevating India as a brand.

Minister Goyal expressed his optimism that the flagship event, Bharat Tex 2024 Expo, will propel the industry's growth and spotlight India's potential as a mature, competitive global sourcing destination in the global textile industry. He urged the organizers to make the fair compelling and engaging for the visitors. At the event, the Textile Minister also unveiled the exhibition's logo, website, and promotional video. He called upon the industry to utilize this platform to showcase India's global strengths, its sustainability initiatives, and its capabilities across the textile value chain.

Bharat Tex 2024 will provide a comprehensive showcase of the entire textile industry value chain, from India's rich cultural heritage and textile traditions to cutting-edge technological innovations. With over 1,000 exhibitors and more than 30,000 visitors from 40 countries, this mega event will encompass knowledge sessions, seminars, conferences, CEO roundtables, B2B and G2G meetings, as well as strategic investment announcements, product launches, and collaborations that will redefine the global textile industry.

Live demonstrations, cultural events, and fashion presentations will create an exceptionally creative and engaging environment, offering insights into the realms of textile, fashion, sustainability, and style stemming from the heart of India. The event will also feature designer and brand exhibitions, fashion shows, sustainability workshops, and expert talks.

Speaking at the occasion, Rachna Shah, Secretary, the Ministry of Textile, emphasized the immense opportunity for the textile industry to increase its exports, making Bharat Tex 2024 a timely initiative. She noted that the exhibition will not be just an ordinary exhibition but an immersive experience. The expo will serve as a unique platform for bringing together key players from both the Indian and global textiles sectors, while highlighting the numerous existing and emerging opportunities, robust infrastructure, attractive incentives, and other benefits available in India for global investors and buyers.

Shah further highlighted that the event will provide a unique platform for global investors and buyers to explore India's strengths as a global manufacturer and consumer market. The event is an industry-led initiative and is proposed to be organized jointly by the 11 Textile-related Export Promotion Councils (EPCs) and other industry bodies.  Naren Goenka, Chairman of the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), and Bhadresh Dodia, Chairman of the Manmade and Technical Textiles Export Promotion Council (MATEXIL), presented detailed plans for the activities to be featured in the fair.
