E-Cycle Subsidy: Get Rs.7,000 Subsidy on First 10,000 e-Cycles, Check Eligibility Here

The national capital Delhi will be the first state in the country to offer a subsidy for the purchase of an electric bicycle. The dealers will be provided information about Monday. The subsidized website will be available starting on Wednesday.

The cheapest on-road e-cycle will cost Rs 23 thousand 499 after subsidies, while the costliest will cost Rs 38 thousand 185. The Delhi government has approved the subsidization of 13 different e-cycle types.

A 5,000-rupee subsidy will be given to the first 1000 e-cycles, with an additional 2,000-rupee rebate. The e-cycle sale process will begin soon. Hero has the highest number of government-approved e-cycle models.

It's worth noting that residents of Delhi can now apply to the Transport Department for a variety of acceptable models. Only one e-cycle will be subsidized per person. They must be Delhi residents. The Aadhaar Card will be linked to it.

A passenger e-cycle may travel up to 45 kilometres on a single charge. The e-cycle subsidy is likely to pique the buyer's curiosity.

E-Cycle Subsidy: Eligibility Criteria

  • An additional Rs 2,000 subsidy would be offered on the first 1000 e-cycles, in addition to a Rs 5,000 subsidy.

  • The Delhi government has approved the highest number of e-cycle models for Hero.

  • Only one e-cycle will be subsidized per individual.

  • To be eligible for the benefits, you must be a permanent resident of Delhi.

  • Only Delhi residents will be eligible for the subsidies. The e-cycles may be charged at home using charging kits similar to those used for cell phones.

Meanwhile, the first 5,000 buyers of heavy-duty cargo e-cycles and e-carts would receive a Rs 15,000 subsidy apiece, with prices ranging from Rs 40,000 to Rs 45,000 for cargo e-cycles, Rs 30,000 for e-carts, Rs 25,000- Rs 30,000 for e-cycles, and Rs 90,000 to nearly Rs 3 lakh for e-carts.
