The government has started purchasing wheat from farmers from April 15th, while farmers have to keep wandering for online registration. The online registration facility is available at 19 procurement centers, block-wise by the Department of Food and Public Distribution. While registration is necessary to procure the wheat, it has become difficult for the farmers to reach these centers for registration in the prevailing lockdown. To procure wheat from the same farmers who have registered on the fcs.up.gov.in, the policies have been updated for the purchase of wheat.

The data of the farmers, who had registered for wheat procurement in the previous season, has been removed from the portal. In such a situation, many farmers will have to register afresh. About 15 thousand farmers of the district will have to update their registered data according to wheat sales. So far, only 3975 farmers have registered on the portal.

Currently, the registrations are being done at 19 procurement centers of the Food Department in the district. Rakesh Mohan Pandey, Food and Marketing Officer – District, says that the reason why farmers are facing problems in registering is that the Common Service Center and Cyber Cafes are closed. Such farmers can also register through their Android mobile or any students' laptops. Apart from this, agencies that take care of the procurement work have also been instructed to seek permission from ADM Revenue and Finance to open shops in lockdown. They have been asked to give a list of their nearest cyber cafes and CSC centers to them and ask for permission to open them but no one has asked for permission.

While registering on the food department portal fcs.up.gov.in, the farmer will have to enter the holdings, Khasra, crop acreage, Aadhaar card, bank passbook, passport size photo, and mobile number. At the time of registration, make sure that there are no disturbances in numbers or spelling.
