Postgraduate certificate in Agriculture policy, Eligibility, and Course Duration

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has started a new certificate course called Gender, Agriculture and Sustainable Development (CGAS) under its open distance-learning mode. This is a 6-month long course available in English language. It must be noted that the programme has been started as part of the Samarth courses, which is managed by the Centre for Online Education.

Graduate in any stream can apply for this course at -  https://ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in/. The last date for submission of application is 15 March 2021.

The post-graduate program in Agriculture policy looks to develop human resources for planning, development, and implementation of national policies in agriculture. The program covers various aspects of the policy formulation to achieve the overall economic development of the country. 

The specific objectives of the program are to: 

  • Create an understanding of the salient features of the agriculture policy framework among policymakers, implementers, and other stakeholders of the system for its effective implementation.

  • Develop human resource for:

  • Identification of strategic issues concerning national policies in agriculture;

  • Analysis of policy aspects and their operationalization; and

  • Development of an implementation framework for agriculture and rural development policies.

Duration of this program: 6 months in the English Language  Eligibility: Graduate in any discipline Fee: 3600 for program + exam fee as decided by the university.
