In a discussion Radha Mohan Singh said to his Uzbekistan counterpart that India has become favourite destination of investment in food processing sector. He stated that In order to increase the income of famers initiative of setting up of FPO and co-operative societies is being taken up. India can help Uzbekistan with its expertise in this sector. In a discussion of strengthening the bilateral cooperation between both the countries Referring to the remarkable progress made by India in the field of agriculture, Singh presented the details of various health reforms, including the development of organic farming, crop insurance scheme, electronic market and doubling the income of farmers by 2022.
Singh said India can train Uzbekistan in the development of Green House with the help of its Excellence Center. Agriculture Minister expressed his desire to make interaction between government agricultural institutions, scientists, and agricultural produce traders. He said India will cooperate in it. In the animal husbandry sector, he expressed his desire to work together. India is also keen to support the establishment of a food processing industry in Uzbekistan.
