Mahindra Group Collaborates with Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to Support Women's Empowerment in India

Mahindra group has signed an MoU with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to support women's economic empowerment in India.

The memorandum of understanding, which will last for two years, will help the Mahindra Group achieve its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals i.e., to empower one million women yearly by the year 2026.

The Mahindra Group, a leading pioneer in ESG globally hopes that this collaboration would serve as a catalyst for India to accomplish UN Sustainable Development Goal No. 5 on gender equality.

The MoU was signed by Dr. Anish Shah (Managing Director & CEO) Mahindra Group and Hari Menon (Director, India Country Office) Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

The alliance will mainly focus on gender equality and concentrate on initiatives that support impoverished women's economic emancipation. For this, both organizations will work together on various initiatives with significant stakeholders, including the government, institutions, NGOs, businesses, etc.

Talking about the collaboration, Dr. Anish Shah, Managing Director & CEO, Mahindra Group said, “We are delighted that we have found a like-minded partner in the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to further our joint vision to empower 1 million women annually. In accordance with the terms and conditions of the MoU, the two groups will conduct research and analysis, carry out initiatives, and assess the results to improve women’s empowerment in India.
