McDonald’s India Adds Immunity Boosters Like 'Turmeric Latte', 'Masala Kadak Chai' in its Menu

There has been a worrying trend due to unhealthy diets and thus people are opting immunity-boosting beverages. Type 2 diabetes and Obesity has assumed epidemic proportions worldwide. India has the largest number of diabetics in the world and obesity is also on the rise, particularly affecting the younger population.

McDonald's the American fast-food company that has it presence globally is trying to incorporate two Indian Beverages keeping in mind the above situation of immunity building.

McDonald’s India (West and South) has announced two new additions, Turmeric Latte and Masala Kadak chai has been added to the McCafe menu. Mac Donald’s Spokesperson reiterates the fact that this has been in their minds for a long time and has become very important in the pandemic times.

The benefits of turmeric cannot be ignored. It is an important spice that has the power to lessen inflammation in the body, improve digestion, fight infections and detoxify one’s body. There are other immunity-improving ingredients like cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, pepper and saffron which are rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties included in The Turmeric Latte.  Turmeric Latte is the westernized name for Haldi Doodh’ – which is used to combat cold, cough, congestion, and many more ailments.

The ingredients in the Kadak Masala Chai would be pepper, cardamom and ginger which also has the ability to fight infections and reduce inflammation and provide antioxidant radicals to the body. The Masala Kadak Chai aka The Indian Masala Latte is power packed with traditional herbs and spices to comfort the Indian consumers.

The Kadak Masala Tea would remind us about chai sessions at homes and how staple it has been to Indians. For us, Kadak Masala Chai is all about bonding and sharing.

Reported by FNB, about the new additions to the menu, Arvind RP, director-marketing and communications, McDonald’s India (West and South), said, “Menu Innovation is a continuous journey for us and we are excited to introduce these new offerings on the McCafé menu that are crafted to please the Indian palate. Several studies and researches have highlighted that consumers are actively scouting for immunity improving recipes and products. As a brand that has always stayed ahead of customer expectations, these additions give our customers relevant choices.”
