India has appointed Dr. B.N.S Murthy as the new Indian commissioner for horticulture, where his main target is to double the average income of Indian farmers. Earlier He was serving as the Principal Scientist (Hort) & I/c. Head, Division of Fruit Crops, Indian Institute of Horticultural Research. His area of specialisation is Horticulture- Fruit Crops improvement; Propagation including tissue culture. He post graduated in Horticulture from UAS, Bengaluru. He is recipient of national and International awards for his excellent work. Krishi Jagran congratulates him on becoming the new Horticulture Commissioner.
