People in This State to Get Ration Even if They Don’t have Aadhaar Card or Ration Card

To protect the public from the threat of coronavirus government has extended the lockdown period till 3rd may across the country. However, the poor or daily wages workers are suffering the most due to this lockdown. Both central and state governments are doing their best on their respective levels to help the people of the country. During this time, Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has made a big announcement.

To protect the public from the threat of coronavirus government has extended the lockdown period till 3rd may across the country. However, the poor or daily wages workers are suffering the most due to this lockdown. Both central and state governments are doing their best on their respective levels to help the people of the country. During this time, Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has made a big announcement. It has said that no poor will starve in the state adding that if one does not have a ration card or Aadhaar card, he will continue to get ration under the government scheme. 

The Yogi Adityanath government has made several big announcements, including depositing money in the account of the poor and giving ration. On Friday Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath tweeted that "In Uttar Pradesh it will be ensured that one does not stay hungry. In order to provide relief to the poor and needy under special circumstances arising out of Covid-19 pandemic, universalization of PDS will be done in the state by June 30, 2020". In another tweet he said that " It will be ensured that every needy in rural and urban areas must get ration even if they do not have ration card or Aadhaar card. Food will also be made available to the people of the nomadic communities". 

What Yogi government is doing in this pandemic situation? 

Uttar Pradesh has opened its treasury for the poor. On 4th April a sum of Rs 871 crore was transferred by Yogi Adityanath as pension online to the bank accounts of more than 87 lakh elderly, widows, disabled and leprosy people in the state. 

The yogi government has also deposited one month advance pension in their bank account to help the needy people in this economic crisis. In this way, two months pension has been deposited in their bank accounts.  

The first relief package for the poor due to corona virus and lockdown was announced by Uttar Pradesh.
