In a bid to bolster Uttar Pradesh's economic growth and global presence, the President of India recently expressed her enthusiasm for the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show. The event, which has attracted more than 2000 manufacturers and over 400 buyers from 66 countries, is seen as a significant step in showcasing the state's products on both the domestic and international fronts.

The President commended the initiative, emphasizing its potential to serve as a powerful platform for manufacturers and entrepreneurs in Uttar Pradesh. She noted that the event's focus on the "One District One Product" program, which showcases a diverse array of products, including handicrafts and items from young, especially women, entrepreneurs, is particularly commendable. In her address, she highlighted the need to promote greater participation of women in entrepreneurship and the labor force.

Furthermore, the President acknowledged the remarkable economic strides made by Uttar Pradesh in recent years. She attributed this success to the state government's efforts in simplifying the investment process, fostering a business-friendly environment, and accelerating infrastructure development. As a result, Uttar Pradesh is now one of the fastest-growing state-level economies in India, reflecting positively on the country's overall economic trajectory.

One notable achievement highlighted by the President is Uttar Pradesh's standing as the leading state in terms of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), with over 96 lakh registered entities. Impressively, despite being a landlocked state, Uttar Pradesh has witnessed continuous growth in exports. The state's exports have surged from approximately Rs. 88,000 crore in the fiscal year 2017-18 to approximately Rs. 1,75,000 crore in the fiscal year 2022-23.

The President also drew attention to the inclusion of the goal of local value creation and addressing MSME challenges in the G20 New Delhi Leaders' Declaration. She expressed confidence that the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show aligns with national and international priorities, in line with the objectives of the G20.

With a diverse range of products on display and a growing focus on MSMEs, particularly women entrepreneurs, Uttar Pradesh is poised to further strengthen its position in both national and international markets. The event serves as a testament to the state's commitment to fostering economic development and facilitating global trade opportunities.
