A statement of PMO says that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the distribution of e-property cards today, on National Panchayati Raj Day (April 24) under the SWAMITVA (Survey of Villages and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas) scheme. It will spread out the SWAMITVA Scheme implementation across the country.

As per the PMO statement, PM Modi will launch the distribution of e-property cards through video conferencing. And Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar will also attend the event.

Along with this, PM Modi will also present the National Panchayat Awards 2021 on the occasion. The award money ranging from 5 to 50 lakh rupees will directly be transferred to the bank accounts of panchayats concerned on the real-time basis, and this is being done for the first time, said the PMO statement.

The awards will be conferred under the categories, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Sashatikaran Puraskar to 224 panchayats, Nanaji Deshmukh Rashtriya Gaurav Gram Sabha Puraskar to 30 Gram panchayats, Gram Panchayat Development Plan Award to 29 Gram panchayats, Child-friendly Gram Panchayat Award to 30 Gram panchayats, and e-Panchayat Puraskar to 12 states.

The SWAMITVA scheme was launched by PM Modi on 24 April 2021 as a Central scheme to promote a socio-economically empowered and self-reliant rural India. The scheme will cover around 6.62 lakh villages of the entire country during 2021-2025.
